This courthouse is in the middle of the square in the center of Bloomington. It is built with local Limestone.<br /><br />Since it's Christmastime, lights are strung from the courthouse, heading in all directions.
I came across this marker next to the Monroe County Courthouse.<br /><br />It says that this was the US population center based on the 1910 census.<br /><br />It caught my attention because I was planning to visit another monument like this the next day.

These things, which I'm guessing are wellheads, are scattered all over the countryside near Switz City, Indiana.<br /><br />There is a large fuel storage facility nearby, but I don't really know exactly what these are for. Maybe someone can figure it out.

I came across the Hi-Lift factory while driving around the back side of the Greene County Courthouse.
This caught my attention while I was looping around the back side of the Greene County Courthouse.<br /><br />I stopped for a closer look and discovered this is the factory for Hi-Lift jacks. Their facilities cover at least two city blocks in the heart of Bloomfield.

Dunn's woods are the woods in the middle of the Old Crescent on the Indiana University campus in Bloomington.
Built in 1905, the Student Building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.<br />The building has a tall clock tower that is often photographed to represent Indiana University.

The Rose Well House covers the original well for IU and was a gift from Theodore F. Rose in 1908.<br /><br />Tradition holds that a female student is not officially a co-ed until she has been kissed beneath its dome at midnight.
Owen Hall and nearby Wylie Hall were the first buildings built on the new Indiana University campus, after the fire of 1883.<br /><br />The fire had destroyed the main building of the earlier campus, and a new location, then called Dunn's woods, was chosen for the new campus. There, on April 2, 1884, ground was broken for the two new buildings, designed by Indianapolis architect George W. Bunting.

The Sample Gates at Indiana University serve as a welcoming entryway for students into the IU.<br /><br />Edson Sample funded construction of the gates in 1987 and dedicated them to his parents.<br /><br />The gates, constructed of Indiana limestone, mark the entrance to the Old Crescent, the site of IU's historic campus buildings built between 1884 and 1908.
